What is LCA? The Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA), chartered in 1968, is a state branch of the American Association (ACA). LCA encompasses a broad spectrum of groups in the field of professional counseling and provides an opportunity for sharing and professional growth. There are ten divisions and one affiliate that are a part of LCA. The Louisiana Counseling Association represents LPCs, LMFTs, school counselors, college counselors, college educators, substance abuse counselors, career counselors, multicultural counselors, and religious counselors. In addition LCA: - Offers an annual subscription to the LCA Journal
- Offers a quarterly online issue of the LCA Lagniappe, the official newsletter of LCA featuring coverage on legislative activity, counseling trends, and events of importance to the profession
- Offers the opportunity for enhancement of your skills and knowledge through interaction with colleagues at the annual fall conference and other workshops
- Offers the review and pre-approval of workshops statewide for CEU credit
