Currently, there are ten divisions and one affiliate within the Louisiana Counseling Association structure. The divisions are chartered according to the bylaws of LCA and ACA. LCA membership is a prerequisite for membership in any of the divisions. LCA members are requested to join at least one division.
ALGBTIC-LA Association of Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues in Counseling of Louisiana
The Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered Issues in Counseling of Louisiana seeks to educate counselors to the unique needs of client identity development and a non-threatening counseling environment by aiding in the reduction of stereotypical thinking and homoprejudice.

LAAOC Louisiana Association of Addiction and Offender Counselors
The Louisiana Association for Addiction and Offender Counselors seeks to advance practice among counseling professionals working with clients that must deal with addiction and offender issues. The mission of LAAOC is to be a high quality resource organization which supports prevention, treatment, research, training, and advocacy for the addicted and forensic/criminal justice populations.

LACES Louisiana Association for Counselor Education and Supervision
The Louisiana Association for Counselors Education and Supervision serves professional counselors and human development specialists who are primarily employed as counselor educators or supervisors of counselors in school or agency settings. This division provides leadership for improving counselor preparation and supervision.

LAMCD Louisiana Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development
The Louisiana Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development seeks to improve ethnic and racial empathy and understanding and to advance education opportunities for non-white minorities. LAMCD seeks to promote a greater understanding of diverse populations among members of the counseling and development professions.

LAMFC Louisiana Association of Marriage and Family Counselors
The Louisiana Association of Marriage and Family Counselors seeks to assist couples and families with relationship issues and difficulties that arise in daily life by utilizing a systemic perspective. LAMFC seeks to help develop healthy family systems through prevention, education, and therapy.

LASERVIC Louisiana Association for Spiritual, Religious and Ethical Values in Counseling
The Louisiana Association of Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling serves professional counselors with interests in the area of spiritual, ethical and religious value issues in counseling. LASERVIC is devoted to professionals who believe that spiritual, ethical, religious and other human values are essential to the full development of the person and the discipline of counseling.

LCDA Louisiana Career Development Association
The Louisiana Career Development Association seeks to foster career development throughout the life span. LCDA strives to support and enhance the practice of career counseling, to promote ethical and responsible practice, to promote communication and exchange among K-12, college and private settings, to encourage cooperation with other organizations related to career development and to provide leadership and advocacy for the profession of career counseling.

LMHCA Louisiana Mental Health Counselors Association
The Louisiana Mental Health Association serves professional counselors who work in community mental health centers, public or private agencies, private practice or prevention oriented settings. This division promotes the standards of preparation for private practitioners. The members of this association are concerned with the delivery of quality mental health services to children, youth, adults, families and organizations.
