Legislative Lobbying
Effort
LCA has the services of a
full-time lobbyist to assist with the formation of
legislation, lobbying for any and all legislation relative to
counselors or the counseling field, and keeping the
organization apprised of the status of that legislation.
Members are encouraged to contact the Government Relations
Chair with concerns that might need legislative action. (Click
here to email the
Government Relations Chair.) Members are notified via the
website email system of any action that is needed by members
of the organization. Contact information for legislative
action is provided on the website.
Up-to-Date Website
LCA's
up-to-date website provides members with information about the
leadership, up-to-date information on legislative matters, a
membership directory, free email service with a professional
address, on-line shopping that provides a rebate to the
organization, a job listing site, and most importantly, a
calendar of events listing available professional development
activities and CEU opportunities. Organizational and/or
division e-mail notices are sent to members who have
registered on the site. This allows members to receive
pertinent information in a much more timely fashion. The
