The Louisiana Counseling Association, a state branch of the American Counseling Association, is the official organization for counselors in Louisiana. LCA is a network of counseling and human development professionals who work in educational, health care, residential, private practice, community agency, business, government, and industry settings. Over 1200 LCA members reap the benefits of unity and identity as counselors.             The purposes of LCA include enhancing human development throughout the lifespan and promoting the counseling profession; promoting and advancing the interest of Louisiana counselors; providing opportunities for professional growth; and establishing, monitoring, and improving the standards of professional services in counseling.              Benefits of membership in LCA include Subscriptions to the LCA Journal and the LCA Lagniappe, the association’s official newsletter Representation in State and Federal legislation through the Government Relations committee and contracted lobbyists Opportunities for professional development and leadership, including the annual LCA Conference Recognition of professionals within the state who have made a contribution to the counseling profession Ten established divisions relating to areas of interest within the profession Exciting networking opportunities Access to the official LCA website, which offers CEU opportunities, job openings, shopping mall, and related links             If you are a member of LCA, please answer this call to become involved with the association through the many leadership opportunities available.
