Ethical Decision Making Models and the ACA Code of Ethics

3.0 CE clock hours; no NBCC credits available

The ACA Code of Ethics (2014) promotes ethical principles and requires clinicians to use an ethical decision making model when making difficult ethical decisions in practice. This workshop will present the ethical principles of autonomy, nonmaleficence, beneficence, justice, fidelity, and veracity along with examples from practice. Furthermore, this workshop will educate professionals on several ethical decision making models, as well as review self-tests professionals may use to evaluate their ethical decision making. Finally, participants will practice working from the models through case scenarios.
