Adolescence is a difficult developmental period when clients may enter into counseling for the first time for various presenting issues, willingly or unwillingly. This workshop will review the developmental aspects of adolescence including cognitive, social, and physical development; discuss the importance of informed consent and assent; suggest interventions to use when working with adolescents; and provide strategies for parent and/or family consultation
