Cultural Competence in Counseling and Supervision

This workshop provides an overview of current models of cross-cultural supervision and includes experiential activities to aid participants in gaining a clear understanding of the use of these approaches when working with trainees from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. Particular attention is paid to ethical concerns and how to outline concrete objectives for trainees to achieve the necessary developmental outcomes during pre-service and pre-licensure training. Various tools will be used in this workshop, including employment of technology, interactive activities, and audio-visual aids.
