Embed Evidence–Based Interventions in Fun, Everyday Activities
Play therapy is a highly effective vehicle for promoting cognitive, physical, social–emotional, and language development.
While it continues to evolve at breakneck pace alongside advances in technology, its core concepts remain simple, adaptable, and budget–friendly for parents and clinicians alike. Best of all, play therapy feels natural for clients, allowing you to embed evidence–based interventions in everyday activities. This program will show you how to incorporate play into a child and family's daily routine, as well as enhance parental engagement in the process and improve compliance with therapy outside of sessions.

In this hands–on seminar, we'll explore the essential "how–to" details of play therapy, walking through individual and group sessions and connecting each step with supporting research and child development theory, from room setup and activity/toy selection to your role as a coach and facilitator. Discover effective ways to individualize approaches according to client and family needs, such as when working with clients who demonstrate challenging behaviors or have sensory processing/communication deficits. We'll also discuss how to provide play therapy with the same level of structure and accountability found in traditional skill–based training, showing you how to operationalize general tasks that are often poorly defined, from conducting parent consultations to measuring and documenting progress for parents and third–party payers. Case studies throughout the seminar offer relevant practice examples, illustrating how to carry out effective sessions while responding to a range of variables and challenges.

By the end of the day, you'll come away with a toolbox filled with ready–to–use techniques that can be immediately implemented in your work with children and clients of all ages. Whether you're searching for guidance on how to incorporate play therapy into your practice or a refresher on the latest methods and techniques, this course is designed for you.
