Dr. Ed Welch, Licensed Psychologist, will address the topics of depression, anxiety, and guilt and shame. As local churches are increasingly interested in helping those with mental health struggles and their families, he will present material to prepare attendees to identify the experience of depression, anxiety, and shame and to consider the unique nature of mental health struggles and how faith speaks meaningfully to these struggles.
Attendees will be prepared to:
1. Identify the unique nature of mental health struggles.
2. Articulate how faith speaks meaningfully to these
struggles.
3. Be able to illustrate and recognized the experience of
depression, anxiety, and shame.
4. Distinguish between helpful and unhelpful
engagement with those experiencing these struggles.
5. List steps that lead to appropriate referrals.
3.5 CE clock hours for license renewal. No NBCC credits available.
