The pioneering work in sexual abuse recovery was done by and for women, and some therapeutic models have been applied to male survivors without consideration of their different needs. This workshop will explore ways that positive aspects of maleness have been pathologized, and how to develop strength-based models of recovery for men. Following this workshop, individuals will be able to better discuss the differences between working with men and women and will have a perspective on the risks of isolation for survivors and those who work with them.
