LA Office of Student Financial Assistance Professional School Counselor Workshop

During this workshop, attendees will learn about the financial aid process (from application to verification). In doing so, they will be prepared to break down barriers and debunk myths about financial aid and the financial aid process. Attendees will be able to help students and their families navigate this process and assist students and their parents in registering for FSA IDs and ultimately completing the FAFSA. LCAAM (Louisiana College Application and Access Month) events are taking place at high schools across the state during the month of October. LOSFA will be providing a session on the next steps following LCAAM (i.e., communicating with the colleges, sending the required paperwork and a timeline for future events during the year). The participants will also learn about LOSFA’s 5- Point Match, our Outreach Programs and Services, FAFSA Updates (from LDOE and LOSFA), College Admissions Information, Program Updates and TOPS Processing Information.

5.25 CE clock hours for counselors; no NBCC credit through LCA.
