Interventions and Techniques for Self-Harm in Adolescent Clients
Research with the adolescent population has generally found 12% to 24% of young people have self-harmed. For
many adolescents, self-harm is a maladaptive coping method that is used periodically for a period of months to
years, though for some it may transition into adulthood. This workshop will review various interventions and
resources that counselors may incorporate in their work with self-harming adolescents.
