Addiction is a family disease, and when present, can affect those who are not suffering from its symptoms. This presentation will define the disease of addiction along with the many forms it can take. The impact on the family will be explored leading to an understanding of the dysfunctional roles members will assume. Services and support for family members will also be discussed when treatment and recovery has begun for their loved one.
