 This workshop is sponsored by the University of Louisiana-Monroe.

The presenters will be Dr. Mary Sprang and Dr. Joseph Wegmann

Session #1:This 1.5 hr workshop will assist professionals in understanding & working with children whose lives are affected by trauma. Individuals will leave the training with a new perspective and approach for addressing & managing alarm reactions in children & youth with trauma related symptoms. This workshop blends science & evidence based practices into an experiental & interactive knowledge & skill building session. 
Session #2: This session will focus on what individuals and organizations can do to address secondary traumatic stress and to use assessment tools provided to develop a plan to address secondary traumatic stress based on the results.
Session #3: This session will address the mental disorders that typically emerge during childhood & adolescence - depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder & ADHD - together with the medications used to manage them.

 The workshop will award 6.0 CE clock hours for professional counselors.  The workshop has not been reviewed for NBCC credits.
