12/11/2019 - 12/11/2019
8:00 AM - 3:45 PM
Location: TBA , Baton Rouge, Baton Rouge

Currently, there exists a significant gap in learning of aspects of nutrition and the most recent advances in nutritional science. For instance, the existence of such gap is attested in medical education (Vitolins ME et al., 2012) and in education of all health care professionals. A recent review of questionnaires received from 145 health care professionals established that 68% of the respondents found it to be “hard to find high quality scientific educational materials on nutrition” and 64% agreed that “it is hard to find material that is easy to digest”. The seminar “The Science of Fat and Sugar” is designed to bridge these gaps, both in regard of its high scientific value, as every outlined statement of the program is supported by published and peer-reviewed evidence, and in regard of presenting the complex scientific issues in a format that can be easily transformed into action-oriented prophylactic, diagnostic, curative and, when appropriate, palliative and suffering-reducing approaches.

Approved for 6.0 CE clock hours for counselors; not reviewed for NBCC hours.
