This event will focus on various topics that are pertinent in today's society particularly as it relates to youth. Understanding brain development and how it is impacted by chemicals, adverse childhood experiences, media, STI's etc. will be addressed.

 
    We will focus on the magnitude of Adverse Childhood Experiences and how it impacts a person's daily life. To identify the three part of the of the brain impacted by trauma and explore interventions to use with individuals. Lasting effects and dangers of social media. Recognizing the various types of vaping electronic devices and discuss the dangers associated with vaping. Focus will be on healthy relationships and open communication about STI's. We will also talk about prevention and discussing your roll as an advocate for youth.
     Join us a the Ouachita Youth Summit Professional Tract on November 6, 2019 in the ULM Library fro 8:30-3:00 pm. Topics are: Adverse Childhood Experiences, Addressing Trauma and Loss through the brain of a child, effects of cell phone, vaping, and STI's on our children.

 This workshop has been approved for 4.0 CE clock hours.  (the presentation "Adverse Childhood Experience " may not be counted for LPC credits.
