Addiction and the Elderly

The Psychology and Aging Resource Collaborative (PARC) hosts an annual conference for mental/healthcare/social worker professionals.  PARC is the outgrowth of the University of Louisiana Monroe Pfizer & BJ and Mary Jo Robison Endowed Professorship of Gerontology.  Distinguished speakers are invited based on experience, demonstrated skill in presentations and their intellectual contributions to the disciplines of mental health.  Presentations include the phenomenon of grandparents social dilemmas, law enforcement interaction with the elderly, opioid addiction and the elderly, as well as prescription drug abuse and recreational drug use among the elderly.
