Full description:

This presentation will educate therapists on the Managing Your Crazy Self model (MYCS). MYCS is a 6-8 week ordered integrated psychotherapy model which includes elements of CBT, REBT, trauma-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, thought-stopping, mindfulness, neuroscience, cognitive restructuring, art therapy, solution-focused therapy, brief therapy, existential theory, spirituality, and neuro-underdevelopment treatment. It is a therapy model designed for professionals to use with clients and themselves to improve mental health. This program has been recognized by therapists as universal for all ages and conditions. Best practice is that professionals be certified in the program in order to deliver these concepts to their clients or staff, and this session is the first of three main parts. The program is based on the neuroscience of the brain, how it functions in its subparts generating thoughts and emotions and needs to be managed for mental health. The session outlines the structure of the brain, the problem with how the brain misleads individuals overgenerating emotions of protection. Reacting to these emotions is unhealthy and often leads to conditions of anxiety, depression, anger, and other kinds of stress. The course teaches how to take charge of these emotions using the cognitive mind, creating healthy thinking and generating endorphins. Using these successful methods individuals gain control of their lives and ownership of their thoughts and emotions. Doing so benefits four key relationships: self, mate, children and coworkers. The course will teach three key steps with sub points that the client can use continuously to redirect to the conscious mind. Clients experience immediate success and have continuous productive development. Clients learn to overcome their emotional reactions and connect with their authentic self. This allows for creation of healthy foundations to make all further counseling productive.

This workshop has been approved for 3.0 CE  clock hours in diagnosis.  The workshop has not been reviewed for NBCC hours.
