Learn from Dr. Gerald Corey

All counselors have studied from one or more textbooks authored by Dr. Gerald Corey. This is your opportunity to learn about group counseling or counseling theories from the author himself in real-time Zoom training sessions. These training sessions are appropriate for students enrolled in counselor training programs or experienced counselors who would like to earn continuing education hours for certification or licensure purposes. Each training session will be held from 2:30 until 5:00 pm (Central Time Zone) in the afternoon on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Participants will receive 2.5 continuing education hours that have been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) for each session they attend.

The cost for each session is $30 (which is $12 per continuing ed hour).

Sept 19: Group theories & forming a group
Sept 20: Initial stage of a group
Sept 25: Transition stage of a group
Sept 26: Working stage of a group
Sept 27: Final stage of a group
Oct 9: Ethics in theories and the counselor as a person
Oct 10: Psychoanalytic therapy
Oct 11: Adlerian therapy
Oct 16: Existential therapy
Oct 17: Person-Centered therapy
Oct 18: Gestalt therapy
Oct 23: Behavior therapy
Oct 24: Cognitive-Behavioral therapy
Oct 25: Reality therapy
Oct 30: Feminist therapy & postmodern approaches
Oct 31: Integrative counseling and psychotherapy
Nov 1: Integrative perspective & theories summary
