School’s Back During COVID-19! Using Play Therapy Applications for Children in the Schools to Support Their Emotional & Social Needs Due to the Pandemic’s Impact

COVID-19 has brought about many unprecedented changes in ours as well as our students, teachers, and parents' lives. This seminar will present an overview of the many changes schools, students, parents, and school personnel have faced during these past months. This seminar will focus not only on assisting teachers and staff during the transition back to school, but additionally focus on the needs of the students and students’ parents to address and apply play therapy based applications to our students emotional, social, behavioral, and academic learning needs. Objectives: 1. Participants will review play therapy applications for children presenting with emotional, social, behavioral, & academic needs. 2. Participants will identify the needs of children presenting with emotional, social, behavioral, & academic needs using play therapy-based treatment plans and assessments. 3. Participants will discuss play therapy approaches used to support the emotional, social, behavioral, & academic needs of children.

 The workshop will award 2.0 in Diagnosis for professional counselors.
