Recreational and Medical Marijuana Use: Many Questions, Some Answers

Medical marijuana use in on the rise in the United States. It is approved for medicinal use in 33 states and the District of Columbia.  It is legal and decriminalized in 10 US states.  Although the physician regulations for certifying patients for use is highly regulated by the states, the actual contents of products distributed by dispensaries is much more loosely regulated by state boards of pharmacy and the FDA.

Attendees will learn the history and development of medicinal uses for the cannabinoids and the inconsistent definitions of active drug content in products used in dispensaries.  Clinical research protocols will be reviewed as well as the historical and legal aspects of medicinal marijuana use, benefits and risks.  There will be a question and answer period as part of the presentation.
