2020 Summit on HIV and Aging

 During this 2-aternoon presentation, participants will be presented with an introductory overview of issues related to aging with HIV. They will be introduced to a variety of topics specifically related to aging with HIV (psychosocial issues, physical comorbidities, stigma, COVID-19 and HIV, etc.). Participants will also be introduced to issues particular to various cultural sub-populations (i.e. LGBT community, people of color, older adults, etc.). Participants will learn about new models of care for people who are aging with HIV, with a focus on fostering resilience in clients.

2:00-3:00 PM (Central) – KEYNOTE SESSION – HIV and Aging: A Resilience Perspective for Enhancing Health. Presenter: Perry N. Halkitis, PhD, MS, MPH

3:00-4:00 PM (Central) – Creating New Models of Care for People Aging with HIV. Presenter: Maile Karris, MD (4:00-5:00 PM (Central) – Panel Discussion: People Living and Aging with HIV. Moderator: Dorian-Gray Alexander, B.A.--This session does not award credit for professional counselors)

This 2-day workshop will award 3.0 CE clock hours on November 13 and 3.0 for November 20.  The workshops were not reviewed for NBCC credits.
