In a culture of disconnection and isolation, the restorative power of the therapeutic alliance is more vital than ever. Relational Cultural Theory places connection at the center of all healing and desired change, and identifies disconnection and isolation as the most damaging experiences one might have. This presentation will outline the clinical implications of forming a growth-fostering relationship, and avoiding re-enacting cultural disconnections, within the therapeutic alliance.
