This effective, thought-provoking workshop teaches providers working with trauma to learn new ways to help clients. “Big T” traumas like war or sexual trauma, or “Small t” traumas like neglect or struggling with how to develop relationships can be better resolved when clients’ have positive neural networks. This can speed up the healing process. Neurons that fire together, wire together (Neuropsychologist Donald Hebb first used this phrase in 1949 to describe how pathways in the brain are formed and reinforced through repetition). The speed of symptom relief with EMDR therapy does not contradict the helpfulness of other types of psychotherapy–traditional therapies can build coping skills and enhance self-understanding. EMDR therapy can deliver more immediate symptom relief and release from negative “looping”. In this brief training, you can have the opportunity to learn techniques that you can use with your clients right away. You may also be so interested in learning EMDR Therapy that you will want to get fully trained.
