9:00 AM - 12:15 PM
Location: Live webinar, Sponsored by Highwire Therapy, LLC; cost: $55.00,

This workshop will address how the pandemics of racism and COVID-19 intersect with societal expectations around the perinatal period and contribute heavily to perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs). Attendees will learn how to recognize, assess for, and treat several major types of PMADs, gaining knowledge of symptoms, risk factors, screening and assessment tools, and treatment interventions.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
-Describe how the “psychology of pregnancy,” as well as the pandemics of racism and COVID-19 impact birthing people in the perinatal period
-Differentiate between types of PMADs and identify signs and symptoms of each
-Understand various risk factors and special populations in working with PMADs
-Utilize effective screening tools and assessment questions to assess for PMADs
-Identify at least two interventions for treatment of PMADs
-Identify local and national resources for working with clients with PMADS

This workshop has been approved for 3.0 in Diagnosis for professional counselors; it was not reviewed for NBCC credit.
