Yoga is a philosophical system that provides a holistic approach to well-being, addressing the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of a person. In this workshop, we will explore the concept of yoga as a tool in psychotherapy, learn about yoga's efficacy in trauma-informed care, and participate in 3 practices that help to interrupt the mental commentary.
Learning Objectives:
The goal of this workshop is to introduce yoga philosophy as a tool in psychotherapy and trauma-sensitive somatic practices.
The objectives are as follows:
Participants will be able to explain the meaning of the concept of yoga. Participants will be able to utilize yoga's philosophical principles in the psychotherapy setting. Participants will be able to utilize trauma-sensitive somatic practices in the psychotherapy session.
This workshop has been approved for 3.0 CE clock hours for professional counselors; NBCC credit is not available for this program.
