This workshop will review best practices and considerations for working with trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) clients in a behavioral health setting.
Workshop participants will be guided in assessing policies and protections for TGNC clients in the clinical setting and learn when to branch out for external community support/referrals. Facilitators will overview national and regional policies affecting clients of trans experience and explore the complex history of pathologizing TGNC communities within behavioral health systems.
