Psychopharmacology, Disruptive Disorders, Elimination Disorders, and   Alternative Medication Remedies in Children and Adolescents    

Description:

This training will address all new and emerging clinical developments in the medication management of mental disorders in children and adolescents. The program will also examine the disruptive disorder spectrum, common elimination disorders in this population group, and best practices for treatment. Safe and potentially efficacious alternative over-the-counter medication remedies will also be explored.     

Learning Objectives:

  • Review the current, prevailing best practices in managing depression, bipolar, anxiety and ADHD in children and adolescents
  • Discuss and provide direction on case examples specific to mental disorders routinely diagnosed in youth
  • Examine the disruptive disorder spectrum, review select case examples, and discuss best practice treatment strategies
  • Describe current treatment modalities for common elimination disorders in youth
  • Address the use of complementary and alternative medicines in children and adolescents
