This workshop runs from September 21-December 7, 2021

This workshop will present an overview of the counselor's role in filial therapy. The connections of the child parent relationship, cultural factors and the of intellectual concepts of secure relationships between parents and children.

This live (contact hours) and home-based (non-contact hours) webinar training is designed for the play therapist in agency or private practice setting who is interested in learning how to adopt child-centered play therapy tenets and skills with parents. This filial therapy training series will invite professionals and students on how to actively engage parents as partners in the therapeutic process of play therapy which supports parents and helps them to work toward becoming facilitative change agents for their children to enhance their child-parent relationship. Filial Therapy is a dynamic, effective, evidenced-based approach used when working with families. This hands on training will provide registrants with an overview of the rationale, philosophy, history, and theoretical concepts specific to providing filial therapy. The application of filial therapy to various populations will be discussed, including culturally diverse considerations
