This course is focused on helping clinicians provide emotional support to parents with transgender, nonbinary, and genderqueer children. This course will help clinicians provide resources to parents and assist them in coping with their feelings and address challenges related to caring for a transgender and nonbinary child. It will help clinicians support parents in moving through their own coming out process and guide parents in advocating for their transgender and non-binary child. It will help clinicians and parents understand the basic lexicon of LGBTIQ2NB terminology and understand concepts like dead-naming, misgendering, and the correct use of pronouns. This course will also focus on the high-risk mental health challenges transgender and non-binary kids experience.

The presenter is Davina S. Kotulski, Ph.D.,  a licensed psychologist, life coach, spiritual counselor, award-winning author and speaker, and nationally known LGBT rights leader.
