Using experiential activities, this training will explore the appropriate use of sandtray, themes, and techniques for employing the sandtray technique.
Advanced Sandtray training will explore how to assess for various themes within the sandtray which will allow the clinician to identify symptoms of disorders. In addition, the clinician will be able to identify techniques and assessments appropriate to development.
Learning Objectives:
Identify sand tray techniques within play therapy
Discuss various miniatures needed for sand trays
Discuss culture awareness and sensitivity with sand tray in the play therapy room
Identify themes within the sand tray and their relevance within the play therapy process
Participate in experiential building and processing of sand trays with in the play therapy room.
Discuss case scenarios to identify how sand tray may be beneficial in the play therapy process
