The 25th Annual Louisiana School-Based Health Alliance will be held April 28-29, 2022 through the virtual platform, Whova. The theme of this year’s conference is 25 Years, One Vision: Advocate, Advance, Achieve. The purpose of the conference is to provide content-expert education to nursing (NP and RN), behavioral health (LCSW and LPC), clerical staff, and directors of the school-based health centers (SBHC) across the state. The conference committee is responsible for designing the conference agenda and obtaining appropriate presenters.
The goals of the Louisiana School-Based Health Alliance include:
• Promoting the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, and affordable health care to children and adolescents at school sites.
• Providing leadership in the long-term sustainability of school-based health centers.
• Offering technical expertise and assistance to school-based health centers across the state, as well as prospective new partners interested in establishing a school-based health center in their communities
This year’s conference is a landmark point being our 25th conference. School-Based Health Center staff are coming together with a unified mission, to improve the health status of children and youth by advancing and advocating for school-based health care. The conference speakers will cover a variety of topics that ultimately will help SBHC staff to be stronger advocates, and to obtain knowledge to identify medical and behavioral health needs of students and apply them to the health and wellness of the students, family, and community which will help SBHC achieve our mission.
School-based health centers (SBHCs) are a crucial link between health and education, and they improve outcomes for students in both areas.
