Journey from Trauma to Triumph: Using EMDR in the Community of People with a Disability

This presentation will examine the AIP model in relation to persons with a disability. We'll cover important considerations when using EMDR such as the prevalence of trauma, understanding the meaning of “ableism, and becoming familiar with disability “etiquette.” Videos of questions to ask in EMDR phase 1, internal resourcing in EMDR phase 2, and making EMDR phases 3-8 "accessible" will be shown followed by breakout room discussions.
