This presentation will summarize a basic foundation of grief terminology. language, a professional  considerations, and counseling interventions.  In order to practice as a competent and ethical mental health professional, one must confront any potential discomforts and/or blind spots that may be created from personal experiences of loss and grief.  Grief can be a container of fear, uncertainly, pain, confusion, and complexity.  Through this summary of grief understanding and participant engagement, a more palpable understanding of grief will be  acknowledged, clarified, and strengthened.  Participants can expect to walk away with a greater understanding of how to hold space for their own grief as well as their clients.
