Brunch on the Bayou is a therapist networking and CE event where local therapists will be offered two (2) CE clock hours, a delicious brunch, and an opportunity to network with therapists in the surrounding areas.

Ethics: The ACA code of ethics C.2.g. promotes the awareness of clinician impairment. The content in the presentation will offer insight on how to identify personal signs of burnout. It will also address the ways in which burnout impacts client care. The presentation will further define self-care and provide examples of ways self-care improves burnout. Implementational strategies to reduce burnout and de-stigmatize self-care will provided.
Diagnosis: The DSM5 promotes consideration for patient background in mental health diagnostic assessment. The presentation will highlight how specifically in rural areas, cultural considerations are essential when identifying the impact of environment in client symptoms. The presentation will further identify common diagnoses in rural areas, what assessment questions should be asked to these clients when diagnosing, and how clinicians should navigate care coordination.

Approved for 2.0 CE clock  including 1.0 in Diagnosis and 1.0 in Ethics.  No NBCC credit available for this program.
