This workshop is designed for educators, TRIO professionals, counselors, and administrators who play a vital role in supporting students' emotional and academic success. Participants will engage in an interactive and reflective session focused on understanding the mental health needs of today's generation through the lens of real-world experience and practical strategies.
Drawing from April Bell's diverse background in counseling, education, and rehabilitation, the session explores the everyday stressors students faces including academic and extracurricular pressures, family dynamics, learning differences, social media, and technology. Attendees will learn how to recognize early warning signs, foster self-esteem and resilience, and utilize collaborative approaches that support students holistically.
Through guided discussion and intentional activities, participants will leave with realistic, relationship-centered tools to enhance emotional safety, connection, and understanding, recognizing that "Real is Relative" in each student's lived experience
