This interactive presentation aims to provide an overview of multicultural competencies in the counseling profession, guide participants in discovering how to develop and integrate their awareness and effective use of culturally appropriate interventions while addressing the historical and current themes of race-related stress and trauma impacting BIPOC families. Presenters will facilitate activities that will elicit group discussion around power and privilege and how that understanding can lead to greater levels of empathy for all.
