Residential stakeholders across the country have learned from the Damar (Indiana) short-term, family-focused and outcome-based practice model. The Damar clinical practice model will include details about family engagement strategies, staff training and supervision for working with families in their homes and communities, and partnerships with schools and community resources. Challenges met over the years and successful strategies to address will also be discussed. A long-time family advocate with experience in working with programs across the country on engaging families, will share a family member’s perspective on engaging families, especially families with complex challenges.
