Mindfulness Techniques for Adolescents

Adolescence is often a stressful time due to normative, developmental challenges, as well as with new challenges related to multitasking and “always being on” due to technology access. Teenagers may benefit from learning and utilizing mindfulness techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. This workshop will discuss ways to incorporate mindfulness techniques into session with adolescents in individual counseling. Learning objectives include 1) being able to define mindfulness and how to explain it to clients and their families, 2) being able to teach clients how to use mindfulness skills, and 3) experiencing specific mindfulness skills.

3.0 CE clock hours for counselors; no NBCC credit through LCA.
