Workshop #3                 January 25, 2019 Defining the ASCA National Model for School Counselors

Kellie Camelford, Ph.D, LPC-S

“A comprehensive school counseling program is an integral component of the school’s academic mission. Comprehensive school counseling programs, driven by student data and based on standards in academic, career and social/emotional development, promote and enhance the learning process for all students” (ASCA, 2016). The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model provides the premier blueprint for a comprehensive school counseling program. This workshop will define and highlight the various components (foundation, management, delivery, accountability) and themes (leadership, advocacy, collaboration) of the ASCA National Model.
