Dr. Ed Welch will discuss the nature of addictions, chemical dependency, and applicable counseling theories.
1. Participants will be able to identify how chemical dependency is both physical and spiritual
2. Participants will be able to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses in how they develop relationships with the chemically dependent, and they will be able to use techniques that invite openness and honesty.
3. Participants will be able to use strategies that address the shame and past suffering that resides within the chemically dependent.
