The ABCs of Medication Assisted Treatment is designed to provide an introduction to the _ treatment of opioid use disorder using FDA approved medications to support recovery. Providers__ need a basic working knowledge of the efficacy of this evidence-based practice in order to better _ understand the needs of chemically-dependent individuals. Topics discussed will be the neuro- _ science associated with both commonly misused and abused opioids as well as the treatment _ medications; the importance of meeting clients where they are, the role of the counselor, and some common mis-perceptions about MAT.
The presenter will be Jeffrey Quamme, MSW.
The workshop will award 5.5 CE clock hours for counselors. Even though LCA is an NBCC ACEP, this workshop was not reviewed for NBCC credits.
