9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Istrouma Baptist Church, Student Bldg. 10500 Sam Rushing Rd., Baton Rouge

The Six Core Strategies is a model designed for use by institutions providing mental health treatment to children and adults admitted to inpatient or residential settings, and is an evidenced-based practice to prevent violence, trauma, and the use of coercive interventions in behavioral health settings.  This 2-day training will support behavioral health residential programs with increasing implementation of trauma-informed/youth-guided/family-driven practices, and preventing/reducing aggression and the use of coercive practices, including restraints, seclusions, and police calls.

This 2-day workshop will award 7.0 CE clock hours for professional counselors.  Even though LCA is an NBCC ACEP, this workshop will not award NBCC credits through LCA.
