9:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Location: WYES, 312 N. White, New Orleans

Maltreatment during childhood is linked with a host of negative mental health outcomes. This presentation examines maltreatment in the context of four special populations: 1) youth with sexual behavior problems; 2) children exposed to domestic violence; 3) LGBTQ+ youth; and 4) immigrant and refugee youth.

This series of presentations will address mental health needs of special populations in maltreatment investigations. Each presentation will address ethical issues in working with maltreated youth (including a review of mandated reporting issues). Additional content will explore cultural and social context for maltreatment in special population and appropriate mental health evaluation tools for traumatized youth.

This workshop will award 6.25 CE clock hours including 3.0 of ethics and 3.0 in diagnosis for counselors; there are no NBCC credit available through LCA.
