Understanding Emotional Intelligence

 Emotional intelligence is generally defined as being able to recognize and manage emotions, understand how emotions work, and manage emotions in social relationships.  Emotional intelligence appears central to the work of healthcare professionals.  Counselors will be able to help explain emotional intelligence and apply effective tools in helping clients manage stress, improve self-awareness, and improve social and relationship skills.
