Utilizing Sandtray in Play Therapy for Adolescents

Often times play therapy techniques are overlooked by clinicians working with adolescents; however, certain play therapy techniques, such as sandtray, may be a powerful tool to implement in working with resistant adolescents in counseling. Adolescents often have difficulties expressing their feelings or what is troubling them, hence sandtray creates a natural balance between play therapy and talk therapy. This session will provide professionals with a tool whereby the client-counselor relationship can be strengthened through sandtray.
