COMBINING FAMILY THERAPY WITH FAMILY ADVOCACY

This workshop will explore the application of advocacy in combination with an evidence-based therapy program in rural areas of Louisiana

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will learn how to use therapy tools in combination with advocacy tools to help serve the family's needs.
2. Attendees will learn the difference between therapy and advocacy and how each part is beneficial to the family group.
3. Participants will learn to artfully apply the skills and tools.
4. Attendees will have real life examples and participate in scenario role plays to effectively understand how to use this model of helping the family to its fullest extent.

In this workshop, we will discuss positive change that can come from coupling advocacy and therapy together and give real life examples and practice scenarios to solidify their knowledge.
