This continuing education workshop will highlight the environmental factors that impact the development of young children, particularly for those born into families and communities that continue to experience marginalization due to racial, economic, and gender bias. Specific interventions will be presented that counter the effects of present day traumatic events as well as historical and intergenerational trauma for young children. Use of case examples will be employed to illuminate the issues as well as resolution of presenting problems for this client population and their family members.
