Motivational interviewing is an evidence-based practice designed to help clients build desire, confidence and commitment to change.  Motivational interviewing is often used to address addictive disorders as this intervention helps people become motivated to change the behaviors that are preventing them from making healthier choices.  If can also prepare individuals for further more specific types of therapies.  Carious counseling strategies that are useful to address lack of commitment by building discrepancy will be shared and demonstrated.

This workshop will award 2.0 CE clock hours in diagnosis.
