In response to the COVID-19 epidemic, our planning committee has opted to host the 2020 Open Talks conference virtually. Our conference theme in 2020 is Social Determinants of Health (SDoH), which is defined by the World Health Organization as the settings in which people are born, grow, live, and work.  We will offer three tracks focused on Community Health (access to care, access to primary care, and health literacy), Social Community Context (civic participation, discrimination, incarceration, and social cohesion), and Neighborhood and Built Environments (access to healthy foods, crime and violence, housing quality, and conditions of the environment). This year the conference will feature one-hour sessions each Friday in September. Despite the virtual setting the conference will be approved for continuing education units for nurses, social workers and LPCs. Registration will open July 27.
